Sparkles.....

This was so fun to make- I LOVED the rhinestone ribbon Brittany (the beautiful bride!) ordered to put on her wedding cake. The sugar silver balls were the perfect touch, simple and sophisticated. (The decor was all the brides idea!) This was an all white cake with white chocolate BTB.

Wedding cake!

Congratulations Alyssa and Tyler!
The Hydrangea cake was covered in clear sanding sugar so it was gorgeous and sprarkly, the real flowers really made it breathtaking. I also loved how the fondant hydrangea flowers turned out.
The top two tiers were Red Velvet, the bottom tier was Italian Cream Cake.

Love is in the air!!!!

It's about the cake!

Making "cake toppers" and special orders for cupcakes is a lot of fun- BUT let us not forget the real deal here..... THE CAKE. Believe it or not- I have not always been a fan of cake. So maybe that is why I am a little obsessed with making really GOOD cake, because why waste the calories on something that isn't just really, really well... Delightful! I love fillings and drizzles and of course the frosting has to really be delicious.

The best compliment so far passed on to me about my cupcakes is "eating these cupcakes was an out of body experience...." Does it get any better? :)

This is what I was looking at Saturday morning at 4am right before I went to bed...... My garage fridge (and some of my kitchen fridge) was stuffed FULL of cupcakes for a wedding reception. I was planning to go to the Bay Area the next morning so I wanted to get them all done. The bride and groom choose Lemon Poppyseed, Caramel Apple, Samoa, Chocolate Mint, and Pumpkin Spice with a cream cheese filling. So many little cakes!! And I know that each one deserved attention so that it could represent correctly:)

Toasted Coconut topped Samoa's (based on the girl scout cookie!)

The Bride (Christa! So beautiful that night!!!) promised me pictures so I will post them shortly.

This was for the "cutting the cake" picture, with their initials and on top a crown that matched the cupcake wrappers they cut with their cricut machine.

CONGRATULATIONS Mitch and Christa!!!

Wedding and Birthday- summer colors!

Pink, Orange and Yellow!
These were two different parties but both had similar colors that were so bright and fun- The minis were for a wedding reception and the big cupcakes for a Jonas Brothers birthday party so they also were blinged out in silver sugar :)

Open House

For a friends new office opening here in Folsom I was asked for a variety of cupcakes- I made chocolate cupcakes, caramel apple cupcakes and made some Key Lime cupcakes that were nice and tart, then the night before the open house I started to worry that the Key Lime ones would be TOO tart so the morning of the open house (after working on the others until 2am!) I got up to make another batch, some Lemon/Orange cupcakes. A double citrus combo that I love.

Well it turned out the Key Lime cupcakes were the hit of the day! I shouldn't have stressed out (I probably always will when making up a new recipe!) but realized that people expect Lime to have that certain tartness :) Of course the minis flew off the table too- because those dont count as calories.... they are too small!

Dont you love my friends Cupcake stand, Fancy and gorgeous! I have got to get my own!
