Doggy Boxes!

Alexandria wanted to eat cupcakes for her birthday party but give little dogs as party favors! I found these darling boxes that we decided to use and they were perfect. The party desert was Samoa cupcakes (Chocolate cupcakes with caramel filling topped with coconut frosting and toasted coconut) and the puppies were peppermint chocolate.

Oh Christmas trees oh Christmas trees!

Busy week full of Christmas cheer! These were regular and peppermint chocolate, a few Red Velvet too. The top pictures are regular sized cupcakes that were for a classroom party and an office party. The bottom ones are the jumbo trees. I have not gotten tired of making these trees yet! (and i am glad you havent gotten tired of ordering them, they will be back again next year too!)

This was for a little girls Tinkerbell birthday party this weekend and was a lot of fun to make! Fondant on the body and white chocolate for the wings.....

Angels we have heard......

This was a very cute idea- My friend wanted to take something to the girls that watch her kids everyday at the gym and so she wanted a Guardian Angel theme. (She made a matching card to go with it!) The first angels were sweet but we thought the lips made them SASSY! The wings are made out of white chocolate because I love the different textures and I alternated the chocolate cupcake angels with Red Velvet and Peppermint. I LOVED this order and how it turned out. These were done on Mini cupcakes.

Fa La La La La La

I have been waiting for months for it to be Christmas and time for PEPPERMINT chocolate cupcakes! One of my favorite flavors. One friend loved her order so much that I have to post what she said about them.....

"The flavor was perfect!  I really enjoyed having the peppermint taste throughout the cupcake and not just in the frosting.  I don't think I would change anything.  My family also really enjoyed them.  My husband was very impressed with the peppermint cupcakes as well.  He said it was excellent, which he very rarely says about things he eats.  I have never had your peanut butter before.  They are so good!!  We all enjoyed them so much!!  Thank you!!"

I should pay her for saying that :)

I am so excited about the new Photos I have to use thanks to my photographer friend Sharlie Z- she does a fabulous job (on faces too! not just food!- Check our her blog http://www.sharliezphotography.com/) She can also be found on facebook.

Happy Birthday Alexandria!

This was a birthday cake that was DOGgone cute! (is that how you spell doggone?) Alexandria's dog was represented on top with hearts and sparkles.
It was a chocolate 5 layer with raspberry filling and covered with Vanilla BTB.

Friends of the NICU

I am way behind with post for the blog but I had some CRAZY weeks. I was so excited to be involved with the charity event for Friends of the NICU (www.friendsofnicu.org) and it was a fabulous event put on by the founders Elanie and Tim Purkis. We had to empty out a gorilla rack in order to hold all the cupcakes for that weekend. 350 for the NICU event and then another almost 300 for soccer party orders, a church event and a baby shower.

I didnt get pictures of just the regular cupcakes (!!!) but the big boxes in the photo hold 70 cupcakes each. The garage fridge was also full. I cant remember how many batches of frosting I made- it's all a blur.

Who let the dogs out?

This was a cute theme- the birthday boy wanted to invite all his friends that have dogs and go to the dog park for his party! His mom sent me pictures of their family's two dogs and they were the main characters on jumbo cupcakes while the rest of the cupcakes had paw prints and dog bones.

One of my true Delights

My oldest, Scott just turned 11 recently and received his "Arrow of Light" badge and now is on the long road to becoming an Eagle Scout! So exciting and we are so proud of him. For the ceremony I made cupcakes that resemble the actual Arrow of Light badge. Congratulations Scotty!

Baby Boy on the way...

I loved how this cake turned out. Who doesn't love polka dots? And babies? And eating cake?

side view to appreciate the polka dots!
This was a 5 layer chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla pastry cream filling. The whole thing was covered in BTB vanilla. (And weighed 15 pounds.)
Congratulations Collie Family!

Leaves are falling all around....

Great photo Kristen!
I chose a couple different kinds of leaves, cleaned them and painted chocolate!

Here was the birthday box with leaves placed on.

Little Acorns to go with the leaves

This was such a fun project- When Lisa called and wanted to order cupcakes for her birthday she wanted some kind of fall leaf so this is what I came up with. My daughter Natalie chose her own leaves to paint (she went with pink!) and I loved the way the colors blended and came together.I made the acorns thinking they would sit on the bottom of the leaf but the leaves were too big, oh well, maybe on a cake next time.
Happy Birthday Lisa!!

It's about the cake!

Making "cake toppers" and special orders for cupcakes is a lot of fun- BUT let us not forget the real deal here..... THE CAKE. Believe it or not- I have not always been a fan of cake. So maybe that is why I am a little obsessed with making really GOOD cake, because why waste the calories on something that isn't just really, really well... Delightful! I love fillings and drizzles and of course the frosting has to really be delicious.

The best compliment so far passed on to me about my cupcakes is "eating these cupcakes was an out of body experience...." Does it get any better? :)

This is what I was looking at Saturday morning at 4am right before I went to bed...... My garage fridge (and some of my kitchen fridge) was stuffed FULL of cupcakes for a wedding reception. I was planning to go to the Bay Area the next morning so I wanted to get them all done. The bride and groom choose Lemon Poppyseed, Caramel Apple, Samoa, Chocolate Mint, and Pumpkin Spice with a cream cheese filling. So many little cakes!! And I know that each one deserved attention so that it could represent correctly:)

Toasted Coconut topped Samoa's (based on the girl scout cookie!)

The Bride (Christa! So beautiful that night!!!) promised me pictures so I will post them shortly.

This was for the "cutting the cake" picture, with their initials and on top a crown that matched the cupcake wrappers they cut with their cricut machine.

CONGRATULATIONS Mitch and Christa!!!

Lego Starwars!!

Enjoy these pictures you will!
I think Darth Vader and the light sabers were my favorite part of this project- I have been wanting to find a way to make real looking sabers because the last ones I made (out of taffy) started drooping by the end of the day- these ones are made out of hard candy and I love them! Dartha and Yoda were so fun to make- I think Darth alone took 6 hours. But according to my kids he was the best part :) May the force be with you!
On his little cake before I frosted it-

Darth's body suit
Because I am a dork I made his face before I covered it with his mask.

Cant you just hear them making that....light saber sound?

YODA!!! Representing the non dark side!!
