Rapunzel from Tangled!

This was a cake for Sophie, who was having a "Tangled" themed birthday party and her Mom let me just go with whatever vision I could come up with. Sophie is the sweetest girl and of course I wanted her to LOVE her cake. This is also one of my favorite disney movies now!
Looking at pictures makes me realize that I need to figure out the basics behind molding faces- Mouths are the hardest! I guess this will always be a work in progress...

This is a 3 layer 9 in cake topped with a 4 layer 6" cake/tower and the tower room itself was all rice crispies and fondant. When I finished the roof I just wasn't thrilled with it but I didnt have time to make all the tiles to "roof" it but then.... sparkly sugar makes everything. The house and roof could be done way more professionally, next time I do a building structure I will plan it out a little better :)
Happy Birthday Sophie!!!

Of course I had to include the frying pan!

You can see her hair wraps all the way around!

I just got this birthday girl pic!!  So fun....

Another Belle Day!

I guess Belle is the favorite for little girls lately! This was a request for a "belle" with brown hair and blue eyes. I made her holding a rose this time, she was leaning over on her jumbo cupcake so I put her on a little 6" round. She was made with both fondant and molding chocolate.

Princess Beth

No I am not referring to myself. This Princess Beth just turned 5 and is a miracle NICU baby surviver! She loves Belle so her mom wanted her princess in a "Belle" dress with crowns to go with the "Royal" party theme....  The dress and crowns are all made from modeling chocolate and I am THRILLED with this new material. Tastes so good (WAY better than fondant) and is really fun to work with.

Happy Birthday Beth!

Mermaid Sophia!

This was a cake for Sophia who just turned 4.... my kids had the idea to make the shark bite the 4 :) I used both fondand and modeling chocolate on these decorations. This was a red velvet with chocolate filling and white chocolate BTB.

Happy Birthday S!

Winter Princesses!

I posted some "making of" pics earlier but here are some of the end result..... It was so fun to see the birthday girl Gabrielle when I brought her cake in! I made 9 of the cupcake princesses not knowing ahead how many would fit on the cake. They werent too hard to make just a lot of little steps (and patience!) I ended up only putting 5 on and some of them were cut in half to fit on the little ledge. I did my favorite white chocolate buttercream on the cake with a layer of seven minute frosting on top to give it that swoopy shiny texture. I got the idea for these cute princess cupcakes from a cupcake book!
