Princess Beth

No I am not referring to myself. This Princess Beth just turned 5 and is a miracle NICU baby surviver! She loves Belle so her mom wanted her princess in a "Belle" dress with crowns to go with the "Royal" party theme....  The dress and crowns are all made from modeling chocolate and I am THRILLED with this new material. Tastes so good (WAY better than fondant) and is really fun to work with.

Happy Birthday Beth!

Mermaid Sophia!

This was a cake for Sophia who just turned 4.... my kids had the idea to make the shark bite the 4 :) I used both fondand and modeling chocolate on these decorations. This was a red velvet with chocolate filling and white chocolate BTB.

Happy Birthday S!

Oh Baby!

Here is a little picture of the party display!
This was so much fun- it was ordered for a mom of boys that is expecting a girl!
The theme for the shower was vintage barbie (!!!) and I loved how this cake turned out.
This was a 9" 5 layer red velvet cake with a 6" 5 layer topper.

Double Heros!

The twins that this cake was for are the cutest boys ever. And they are the reason their parents, Tim and Elanie Purkis, started the great charity organization "Friends of the NICU." (www.friendsofnicu.org)

They just turned 5 and each has a special place in their heart for certain super heros. Elanie let me have carte blanche with the design so I just did a little something for each of them.
This was a 12" 5 layer chocolate cake with ganache and chocolate filling......

I think I will give Buzz arms nest time but I wasnt sure about spacing when I made him... :)

Harry Potter

These were for a HUGE Harry Potter Fan. To quote my son, "she knows more about Harry Potter than anyone else in my class!" She knew she wanted edible Harry Potter heads but left the rest up to me. It would be really easy to get carried away- there are so many ideas and things you could do with Harry Potter but to be realistic I stuck to 4 different symbols; Harry Potter, a wand spraying "magic", a golden sphinx and books of spells.

I noticed later that I think Harry needs eyebrows! But otherwise I like him.

Next time I would cover the ball in golden sugar!

Magic Wand- tried to get the tree bark look!

Why? Because we like you!

These were for a group of cheerleaders that won big time and got to go compete in Disneyland! One of the girls mom ordered something "mickey mouse and sparkly!" so this is what I came up with. I cant wait to hear how they did!!
