These were regular cupcakes for a birthday party- I am going to be making mini flower ones this week so I will post those pictures later. I love the flowers, I was so glad to have a reason to make them!

Olympic Skiier!

I cant take credit for this cute "ski slope" cake my friend made for her husband! She asked me to make a little ski dude so he was my contribution. Looks like he is a little too "hang loose" for the Olympics but... hey he did the job.

Skater Cupcakes.... Happy Birthday!

My friend Paige's son Ben had his 22nd birthday today! He gets to school on his skateboard quite often so I thought these would be appropriate. The wheels are held together with a piece of redvine glued with chocolate.

Birthday Herd!

Our friend had a pony party so I got to make these fun ponies again! Cant you just see the wind making their manes really...pointy? :) A lot of little steps for these but the end result is so fun. Hopefully my friend will send me better pictures :)

Could have been you!!!

These were the cupcakes I gave out to people who made it to the blog for the "quiz" :) I will do another one in the next day or two....

I think cinnamon rolls are a treat anytime of day! My kids love it when I get orders for these because it means a little leftovers for them :)
When I first started making them I used a favorite roll recipe but had a hard time getting the right consistancy with the cinnamon sugar- sometimes it seemed to just melt into the roll and leave the whole thing too bready. One day I was at the airport and had some time so I went to the Cinnabon shop and watched them roll out their cinnamon rolls and realized I needed a thicker mix for the insides, so I tried it and they just turned out so good- so thanks for having clear windows so I can watch you Cinnabon! I am not sure what they mix together but I stick with real butter, cinnamon and sugar.

CUPCAKE QUIZ!

Did you know if you take a jumbo cupcake liner and put it in a regular size cupcake pan you can make a great "medium" size cupcake! Perfect for that 'more than a regular but not quite a jumbo' appetite!

Today I was making cupcakes for a "Pony" party and decided to ask everyone the personal question "What's your size?..."

Rate the cupcakes in the picture above, which size would you pick up at a party?(from left to right they are Jumbo, Medium and regular)

(can you believe the small one is a "regular" sized cupcake! It looks so small next to the others but still so satisfying~ :)

Birthday Girl

For Natalies birthday party she wanted chocolate cupcakes so we tried out a new Martha Stewart recipe that my sister in law sent me- they are a brownie cupcake- I thought the recipe might just be a little dense for 8 year olds, so I added about 1/3 of my regular cake recipe to make them just little lighter- then of course chocolate chocolate frosting! I am sure the MS recipe alone is fantastic- I will have to try it soon, maybe our next in home "date night."
